Attend or stream ARHS’ musical – Friday and Saturday

This Friday and Saturday, Algonquin students are putting on a musical written by one of this year’s graduates. The play, Paralled, will be performed in front of the school and simultaneously streamed online.

The show’s website promotes:

Alice seems to be living the perfect life; top of her class at Carnegie Mellon, living with her best friends, and exploring a budding romance. But like the rest of us, Alice has her own inner demons to face. Faced with the chance at a NASA internship, Alice begins to crumble under the pressure. As she turns away from her friends, Alice starts to spiral, running from her past.

On the tail end of a pandemic, Paralleled the musical explores mental illness, communication, and friendship. Above all, Paralleled serves as a reminder that every now and then, it’s good to stop and smell the roses.

The play is written and directed by Class of 2021’s Miranda Slingoff.

The performance is scheduled for 7:30 pm on June 18th and 19th. You can purchase tickets to attend in person or stream the show here. (If you choose in person, BYO Chair.)
