Tuesday, January 18, 2022

  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Join Miss Kim for stories and craft based on a weekly theme. No registration required.
  • cancelled* – Tuesday Tech Time (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library Teen Room: Need help with technology? Library staff and teen volunteers will make every effort to assist you. Bring questions about ebooks and electronic resources. This is a drop in event; no registrations necessary. Sessions are limited to no more than 1 hour.
  • Art with Photography for Kids (4:00 – 5:30 pm) @ Apothecary Artists, 1 Boston Rd: Apothecary Artists is offering classes for kids (fee and registration required). This week’s session is for 5th to 8th graders.  Using a camera, phone, or any device that takes photos, students will learn to play with will play with lighting, angles, shadows and much more.   • Art and Reiki class (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Apothecary Artists, 1 Boston Rd: Apothecary Artists is offering classes (fee and registration required). This session: Instructor Emily Van Nort Come will teach creative, relaxing art techniques to help calm your mind and refocus your energy.   • Baby/Toddler Storytime (11:00 – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: This story time is for children age 0-2 years and their parents or caregivers. Each session will include puppets, stories, and music. No registration required.
  • Let’s Get Creative for Kids (4:00 – 5:30 pm) @ Apothecary Artists, 1 Boston Rd: Apothecary Artists is offering classes for kids (fee and registration required). This week’s session is for 5th to 8th graders.  Have fun using a variety of materials to make a piece of art. For details see dedicated post.

Saturday, January 22, 2022

  • cancelled* – Read to a Dog (11:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Each child participating will have a chance to read a short book to a certified therapy dog. Children must be ages 5+ with some reading ability. Please pre-register in the Children’s Room for a 15 min slot.
  • Fire Pit Saturdays ( 12:00 – 2:00 pm or 3:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Pre-registration (and fee) required. Your ticket includes two hours at a private fire (we’ll light your fire for you), private picnic table seating, wood for burning, roasting sticks, and a kit for making six s’mores.   • ARHS Class of 2024’s Chipotle Fundraiser (4:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Chipotle, 237 Boston Post Road West, Marlborough: Order dinner from the Marlborough Chipotle and have ⅓ of your bill donated to Algonquin Regional’s sophomore class. For details on how to support the fundraiser, see dedicated post.

*Updated (1/18/22 3:59 pm): I just learned that Tuesday Tech time is temporarily suspended and the Read to a Dog program won’t take place this weekend.
