September 8, 2009 04:14:23 PM

I stopped by the Southborough Community Gardens the other week to see what was growing. I found tomatoes (despite the blight), pumpkins, and sunflowers, among others.
The community garden, sponsored by the Conservation Commission, is located at the Breakneck Hill Conservation Area. Plots are rented out and planted by Southborough residents. Many gardeners put up painted

Save the date: Beals’ Perserve Celebration

September 4, 2009 01:45:07 PM

Part of me wants to keep this one a secret. There’s a lovely little trail between Red Gate Lane and Main Street that winds through the wooded Beals’ Preserve, past a pond full of frogs, alongside an open pasture, and down to the Wachusett Aqueduct. It’s a path I travel frequently, but it’s not one

Here are some ways you can celebrate Earth Day in Southborough.
Clean up your ‘hood
There’s no better way to celebrate Earth Day in my opinion than by working in your own community. And here’s your chance. Southborough’s 19th Annual Earth Day Clean Up will take place on Saturday May 2. Why not get a group of

If you care about open land in Southborough, consider joining the Southborough
