Southborough is arguably a blue town, at least there are more registered Democrats than there are Republicans, but the majority of registered voters in town don’t specify a party affiliation, and it’s those unaffiliated voters who pushed Southborough decidedly into the red yesterday.

Scott Brown takes Southborough by a wide margin

The results for Southborough are in, and Republican Scott Brown was the clear winner with 59% of the votes. Democrat Martha Coakley came in at 40%, and Joe Kennedy got the remaining 1%.

Tomorrow is the last day to get an absentee ballot for the special election

Things are heating up in the race to replace the late Ted Kennedy in the US Senate. The special election will be held next Tuesday, January 19. If you won’t be able to make it to the polls, but sure to pick up an absentee ballot by Friday.

Dismal turnout at the polls, Dargan and Harragan win

Only 397 Southborough residents showed up to vote in Monday’s town election. That’s a 6% turnout. Ouch.
It should come as no surprise that all the unopposed incumbents won their races. In the contested race for the two Southborough seats on the regional school committee, Susan Dargan and Kathleen Harragan won with 694 and 760 votes,
