Board of Health to hold flu clinic on 12/9, but supplies are limited

The Southborough Board of Health will hold a flu clinic next Wednesday to administer both the seasonal and H1N1 vaccine. It’s by appointment only, and supplies are limited.

Cable access programming: Charter vs. Verizon

A My Southborough reader recently asked whether Verizon and Charter offer the same public access programming. I checked with Cable Television Chairman Paul Ferguson, and the answer is no, at least for now.

‘Tis the season for … mosquitos

According to an article in the Boston Globe, the near-constant drizzle we’ve had this month will probably not result in a large increase in the local mosquito population. The Metrowest Daily News agrees. While numbers won’t be massive, both sources say it will be an “above-average” mosquito year.

Cordaville Hall to get a new roof, lose some dormers

The Board of Selectmen last week approved a $32K contract to replace the roof at Cordaville Hall (the Senior Center). As part of the work, the four dormers on the back of the building will be removed. The ones on the front will remain.

Youth and Family Services summer camp

Southborough Youth and Family Services is sponsoring three summer camp sessions for kids going into 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th grade.

Rabies clinic on Saturday

The Board of Heath is offering rabies shots for cats and dogs on Saturday for $10 a pop. The clinic will be held at the DPW building next to the Transfer Station. Bring you cat in a carrier between 2:00 and 3:00 pm, or your dog on a leash between 3:00 and 4:00 pm.
