Southborough scout collecting letters for the troops on 9/11

For the past six months, 17-year-old Southborough resident Rick Scott has been collecting donations and letters to send to troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. It’s part of his Eagle Scout service project, a project he calls “Troops for Troops.”

Something I have long suspected was recently confirmed: Southborough has a lot of Eagle Scouts. Fifteen Southborough scouts have achieved the rank of Eagle in the past five years (well above the national average), including six this year alone.

It’s pancake time! The 42nd Annual Boy Scout Troop 1 Pancake Breakfast will be held on Sunday, March 6 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Neary School cafeteria. In addition to the pancakes, scouts will serve up sausage and ham, coffee, tea, milk, and OJ. The breakfast is all-you-can-eat, so you’re sure to leave happy.
