I just got the agenda for tomorrow night’s Conservation Committee meeting and noticed a couple of interesting items.
Proposed fees
The first is a discussion of proposed fees for conservation filings and services. The committee does not currently impose fees except where required by the state.
Conservation Administrator Beth Rosenblum explained the fees are intended to help raise revenue to offset the cost of running the committee. She said most other towns in the area charge for conservation services.
Fees range from $25 for a basic residential certificates of compliance up to $500 for a commercial notice of intent. You can view the proposed fee schedule on the town website.
New fields at St. Mark’s
St. Mark’s has filed a notice of intent to build two artificial turf fields at 30 Marlboro Road. According to Google Maps, that’s at the rear of the existing fields behind Pilgrim Church (map). The Conservation Committee is involved because the fields and associated access drives, walkways, and drainage systems border vegetated wetlands.
