The Friends of Southborough Recreation asked me to pass along their thanks to all the participants, volunteers, and sponsors who helped make this year’s Gobble Wobble road race a success.

“We were lucky to have tremendous community support this year,” Melissa Shields, President of the Friends of Southborough Recreation, said.

In all, more than 1,000 participants walked, ran, and in some cases, wobbled to the finish line on Thanksgiving morning. About 75 volunteers helped keep things running leading up to the event, as well as on race day.

Local businesses provided support through donations of money and goods. Sponsors included the following:

  • Elite Sponsors: Roche Brothers, Southborough Recreation Department, Friends of the Southborough Recreation Department
  • Platinum Sponsors: Trombetta’s Farm, Seeking Sitters, British Beer Company
  • Gold Sponsors: NRG Bar, Middlesex Savings Bank, Capital Group Properties, NECC, Eagle Leasing, Global Printing, Greenwood Industries, Wee Care for Little People, Inc., Table Talk Pies, Sheri Beran Graphic Design, Port Printing Solutions
  • Silver Sponsors: Fay School, Marlborough Savings Bank, Nancy Gould Photography, Domino’s Pizza of Southborough, Wegmans, Dunkin’ Donuts, Fit Studio 28, Tomasso/Panzano, Southborough House of Pizza, State Representative Carolyn Dykema, Southborough Kindergroup, Sperry’s Country Market, Long Automotive Group, Ken’s Foods, Inc.
  • Bronze Sponsors: Southborough Village Preschool, Salon Charisma, English Garden Florist, Starbucks, Stop & Shop of Westboro, Walgreen’s of Southborough, Mauro’s Village Café, Jake’s Coffee Shop

The money raised at the event will go toward FOSR’s mission to support health, recreation, and community togetherness. To learn more about FOSR, visit their website at friendsofsouthboro.com.

A favorite part of the Gobble Wobble is the Kids Fun Run. Melissa Shields sent along these photos of the kids racing around the track at Trottier. To see more photos of the Gobble Wobble, check out this post. Click an image in the gallery below to enlarge.
