Above: A past post by Rec highlighted the path the public should take to the courts at Finn, to avoid crossing onto school property while it’s in session.
Now that school is back in session for the fall, I’m alerting Pickleball playing readers about a restriction on the Town’s courts.
While the courts at Finn School are open for public play, there is a non-intuitive restriction on how to access the courts.
During school hours (and preferably when after school programs are in session through 6:00 pm) the public isn’t allowed to cross through the parking lot between the school and playground.
That means that on weekdays, Pickleball players need to walk across the sports fields to reach the courts.
Resident Jessica Devine reminded the community of the restriction on social media, where she added a helpful warning:
if you play in the AM, wear shoes that can get wet from the dew, and switch to your court shoes when you get to the court. Unless you like playing in soggy court shoes π
If you haven’t been playing Pickleball, but are interested in getting into the sport, Southborough Recreation is offering lessons this fall. There are still openings for the adult Beginner I Evening Class (Mondays 5:00 – 6:00 pm, September 8th β October 6th.) To sign up for the $120 class, click here.
