The Southborough Firefighters Association asked me to share news about their fundraiser for an organization that supports breast cancer patients “right here in Massachusetts”. (They’re getting an early jump on October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.)
The SFA is selling t-shirts and hoodies that incorporate the SFD logo and the famous pink ribbon. (See the flyer right.)
Proceeds from the sales will be donated to the Ellie Fund. That non-profit’s website promotes:
SUPPORTING PATIENTS.FUNDING CARE.PROVIDING HOPE.
Our Mission
To provide essential support services for breast cancer patients to ease the stresses of everyday life, allowing the focus to be on family, recovery and healing.
Ellie Fund services include grocery gift cards, nutritious prepared/delivered meals, transportation to medical appointments, childcare reimbursement, housekeeping, and integrative therapy services, free of charge. Ellie Fund is honored to assist breast cancer patients receiving treatment in Massachusetts, including patients traveling to Massachusetts for their breast cancer care.
The T-shirts cost $25 and the sweatshirts $40. They come in sizes S–XXL.
Orders must be placed through email and payments made via Venmo to @SouthboroughFFA. Email SouthboroughFFA@gmail.com with your name, item type (shirt or hoodie), size, and quantity.
Purchasers will be notified by email when the orders are ready for pickup from the Public Safety Complex (32 Cordaville Rd).
The SFA also hopes that the public will help raise awareness about their awareness fundraiser by sharing and liking their Facebook post.
