Rain put a damper on the past long weekend’s planned festivities. But there is good news to look forward to this weekend.
Southborough Rotary is putting on what they hope will be an annual Oktoberfest in downtown Southborough.
(Or at least an annual “fest”. There is talk of potentially holding it in September next year. In which case, I don’t know what they’d call it!)
The celebration will take place on Sunday, October 19th from 1:00 – 5:00 pm. No pre-registration is required. Just drop in that afternoon. Rotary is promising live music, a sing-along, and the Patriots playing for fans that don’t want to miss the game.
The main purpose is contributing to a fun sense of community. But the main draw will obviously be the Bavarian food and seasonal beers for sale. (Scroll down for those details.)
The Patriots are scheduled to face off against the Tennessee Titans at 1:00 pm. And the band (playing “hits spanning from classic rock and roll, to 90s rock, to today’s radio hits!”) is scheduled for 2:00 – 4:00 pm.
The outdoor festival will take place at the gazebo in front of where the old Fire Station used to be, at 19 Main Street. (Scroll down for parking info.)
While there is no cover charge, attendees are encouraged to bring donations for the Southborough Food Pantry. (Click here for their current needs list.) Proceeds from the refreshment sales will also support that non-profit.
