The Southborough Library and Southborough Youth & Family Services is promoting this month’s “Shelf Help” group discussion. This month’s book and focus, timed for Domestic Violence Awareness month, is about “setting healthy boundaries for emotional wellness and balance”.
Community members do not need to pre-read in order to participate. (Of course, those interested in pre-reading the featured book are welcome to do so. The library and SYFS staff members are happy to help registered participants get their hands on a copy of the book.)
Leading up to the meetup, registered participants will also be provided supplemental reading/media they might want to explore. The registration page for August explains:
In the weeks before the event, we’ll share related resources—including articles, podcasts, and videos—to offer multiple perspectives and support understanding.
On Tuesday, October 28th from 7:00 – 8:00 pm, the group will discuss Where to Draw the Line: How to Set Healthy Boundaries Every Day by Anne Katherine, M.A.
The sign up page for the meeting describes:
This powerful guide addresses the complexities of domestic violence, helping readers recognize unhealthy relationship patterns and understand how to set boundaries for safety and healing.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This discussion aims to raise awareness, provide support, and foster a compassionate community dialogue around this important issue.
While all are welcome, please note that this book includes themes related to domestic violence and abuse. The conversation may involve sensitive and challenging topics. We encourage participants to take care of their well-being and engage at their own comfort level.
The discussion will take at the Library. Click here to register to participate. (Anyone with questions or who needs accommodations can contact SYFS at 508-481-5676 or ebrideau@southboroughma.com.)
