The last two ARHS teams that were still in playoffs fell out of their Division 1 brackets yesterday.
Meanwhile, I missed the accomplishments of two other teams who are still in the running for state championship honors — ARHS Boys and Girls Cross Country teams.
Last night, Algonquin Field Hockey took a 5-0 drubbing from #1 Walpole in their Sweet 16.
ARHS Boys Soccer was at least able to get off one goal against top seed St. John’s Prep yesterday afternoon. They lost their Round of 32 game 3-1.
As for Cross Country, both the Boys and Girls teams came in 1st place at their League Championships on October 25th. The teams competed in Division A alongside Grafton, Shepherd Hill, Shrewsbury, Wachusett, and Westborough.
The Titans Boys’ win was aided by 4 runners in the top 10, including Stephen Green in 2nd and Trent Bedard in 4th. The Girls team also had 4 in the top 10, including 4th place Kyra Brossi.
Each team is sending 10 of their runners to compete in the Division 1B Championships. Those races will take place in Wrentham this Saturday, November 8th. (You can view the program here.)
