Next week, Algonquin students will hit their big stage to entertain with “a whimsical and witty musical”. It’s a show geared to entertain all ages.
While I’m sharing those details, I’m also throwing in some other news/updates related to the Northborough-Southborough Schools’ music program.
Once Upon A Mattress
As an ARHS student, I highly enjoyed the school’s production of the comedic retelling of the classic fairy tale The Princess and the Pea. So, I’m excited to see its return next week.
Performances will be held next Thursday through Saturday, November 20th – 22nd at 7:00 pm in the ARHS auditorium.
The NSBORO music program newsletter describes:
Filled with playful humor, clever wordplay, and lively songs, [the play] transforms the familiar story into a lighthearted, laugh-out-loud adventure full of charm and heart. With its colorful characters, engaging music, and high energy, Once Upon a Mattress is a family-friendly show that delights audiences of all ages.
Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults. They must be purchased online in advance here.
The newsletter, The Beat, also detailed:
Once Upon A Mattress is directed by Science teacher Brian Kelly. The musical direction is led by Fine and Performing Arts teacher Eric Vincent, with vocal direction by Olivia Goliger, also from the Fine and Performing Arts department. The production is choreographed by local dance instructor, Denise Day. This exciting production features a tech and stage crew entirely comprised of students, with nearly 70 ARHS students contributing both on stage and behind the scenes.
And speaking of the large number of students involved. . .
NSMA Candygram
NSMA (The Northborough Southborough Music Association) is again using the fall musical as a fundraising opportunity by selling Candygrams to:
Cheer on the cast, crew, and pit orchestra
Sweet treats (with a message) will be delivered to students after the show for $5 each. You can choose which night to have it delivered. (Or multiple nights.)
