The Southborough Library has a wide range of free art and craft programs coming up this winter for big kids, teens, and even adults.
Here’s a look at what they have on the schedule.
Most of these programs require pre-registration, and have capped attendance. So, sign up soon. All of them will take place upstairs on the library’s main floor.
(For readers with 2-5 year olds — The Library’s Story Times include crafts. The library offers regular semi-weekly Preschool Story Times on Monday and Tuesday mornings, plus monthly Nature Story Times.)
For Ages 7+
This new “Club” led by Graphic novelist and comics instructor Jonathan Todd invites kids (along with siblings or adults) to ” to discuss all things comics and of course, do some drawing!” The meetings will be held every few months on a weekday from 4:30 – 5:30 pm. Sign up using the links below:
For Ages 8 – 12

The Friends of the Southborough Library are sponsoring the return of Julie Harrold to lead more painting classes for kids. She’ll demonstrate each step in the process to create the image. Classes will take place 11:00 am – 12:00 pm on Saturdays. Sign up using links below:

Crafternoons

This Jane Goodall Institute’s Roots & Shoots initiative program will invite participants paint pots to take home and plant seeds in. (Click here to register.)

The Teen Library Leadership Team invites volunteers to drop in about once per month on a weekday from 4:30 – 5:30 pm. They’ll be making/crafting something for a good cause. No registration is needed, and participation can be counted towards volunteer hours. For details, click links below:

Pop Up Art: Snowy House
Thursday, December 11th, 5:00 – 6:30 pm
Pop Up Art School will lead this workshop to “craft a charming snowy landscape featuring a glowing paper house nestled among wooly trees.” (Click here to register.)
Wood Book Box
Saturday, December 27th, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
In this workshop sponsored by the Southborough Community Fund, participants will create, paint, and decorate a 10″ hinged faux book. The wooden box will hold a mini journal. (Click here to register.)
