End of year giving in Southborough

Today is Giving Tuesday. It’s also that time of year when many non-profits send out requests for donations or to sign up as a sponsoring member. For those of you considering which non-profits you want to support this year, I’m reminding of the many charities/community organizations right here in our town.

Whatever it is you value about Southborough, chances are there is a group that raises funds to support it.

Before I list those, a reminder that yesterday, I also posted about holiday collection drives currently in progress. You can find those details here.

Now, here are Southborough/community charities in alpha order:

  • Algonquin Parent/Teacher Organization (APTO) (info link)
  • Friends of the Council on Aging (supporting Senior Center programs) (info link)
  • Friends of the Recreation Department (info link)
  • Friends of the Southborough Library (info link)
  • Friends of the Southborough Youth Commission (supporting Southborough Youth & Family Services’ programs including Winter Wishes & Camp Scholarships) (info link)
  • Northborough-Southborough Music Association (NSMA) (info link)
  • Southborough Community Fund (info link)
  • Southborough Food Pantry (info link)
  • Southborough Historical Society (info link)
  • Southborough Open Land Foundation (SOLF) (info link)
  • Southborough Organization for Schools (SOS) (info link)
  • Southborough Rotary Club (info link)
  • Southborough Village Society (overseeing the Community House) (info link)

In addition, the Town collects donations to funds for:

  • Tax Relief (for elderly and disabled people of low income)
  • Academic Scholarship Funds:
    • Linda Hubley Memorial Scholarship
    • Stefanie Ranieri Scholarship
    • Southborough Town Scholarship

Donations to those funds can be made through the Unigold online payment portal here — enter Town of Southborough in the search field.
