Yesterday, I posted about the upcoming choral concerts by the many regional singing groups that include Southborough members. But there’s also a regional musical group featuring residents that doesn’t ask members to sing.
This month, the Interboro Community Band is inviting the public to enjoy its annual winter symphonic concert.
The performance is Sunday, December 14th at 2:00 pm. As always, the community is welcome to attend the show for free.1.
The 65 member band is led by Music Director Matt Lefebvre. A Southborough member shared:
The first half of the concert will consist of pieces composed by G. Holst, a well-known British Composer of the 20th century. Many will recognize “Mars” and “Jupiter”, as well as “Angels in the Bleak MidWinter.”
The annual winter concert includes an intermission, in which the audience can chat with band members and enjoy refreshments (with “donations gratefully accepted”.)
The performance will take place at Westborough High School (90 W Main St).
ICB was founded by Algonquin’s music director over 30 years ago.2 The band had rehearsed and performed out of NSBORO schools for decades. Post-covid, it was forced to relocate, and found space at Westborough High.
Thanks to Westborough TV, you can watch their performance from last December on YouTube here.
