Eight games into the season, ARHS Girls Hockey is still undefeated. Over the school break, they racked up wins over Shrewsbury (5-2), Natick (2-1), Shrewsbury again (4-1), and Longmeadow (7-1).

Boys Hockey lost to North Andover 5-4 and to King Philip Regional 0-6 in Methuen’s tournament the weekend after Christmas. They partially offset that with a 1-0 win over North Middlesex this past Saturday. They now stand at 3-3.
Girls Basketball is also 3-3 after competing in a post-Christmas tournament. The Girls beat Medford 49-33 in the first round of Hopkinton’s Korbey Tournament, but lost to Milford 45-33. That was followed by a regular schedule 56-31 win over Lincoln Sudbury Regional last Friday.

Boys Basketball beat Acton- Boxborough 55-45 on Tuesday, but that was countered by the 58-42 loss to St. John’s on Friday. Their record is now 4-2.

Algonquin sent a few athletes from the Boys & Girls Indoor Track teams to compete MSTCA competitions in Boston over the holidays. Here are some of their result highlights.
At the Boston Holiday Challenge on December 27th, the best result for the Titans was Jilian Belniak’s 8th place finish for the Womens 55 meter Hurdles.
At the MSTCA’s Pentathlon on the 28th, Tanvi Mehta and Charlotte Lipka tied with two others for 3rd place in the Women’s High Jump. Mehta also finished 3rd place in the 800 Meters and Lipka came in 5th place for the Long Jump. Connor DiVitto scored 6th place in the 12lb Shot Put.
At the Distance Classic on the same day, Titans’ top events were the 2 Miles runs, with senior Izzie Gaskam finishing 5th place for Women and junior Stephen Green 8th place for Men.
