Here are highlights of what’s happening around (or related to) our town this weekend through next weekend.

Saturday, January 17, 2026

  • Consignment Sale (11:00 am – 4:00pm) @ Rove & Ruin (inside Apothecary Artists), 11 Main St: Apothecary Artist Studio will host a special Consignment event over the long weekend. In addition to its regular small gift shop (now called “Rove & Ruin), the gallery will be used to sell vintage and modern clothes. For details, click here.
  • Four Artists Gallery Talk and Reception (5:00 – 7:00 pm) @ Southborough History & Arts Center, 42 Central Street: A reception celebrating the center opening, combined with a talk with the Southborough artists whose works are on exhibit — Joe Landry, Lucia and Warren Prosperi, and Sigrid Knemeyer.   • Public Schools & Town facilities are closed for the holiday

  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Ages 2-5 are invited for stories and a craft based on a weekly theme. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • Spicy Ladies Club (11:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: A monthly social group for seniors. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Virtual Author Talk (2:00 – 3:00 pm) @ online: Registration is required to take part in the free live talk with Q&A, “Nature, Art, and Service as Medicine with Journalist Julia Hotz”. This is part of the Southborough Library’s virtual series featuring bestselling, award-winning, and highly acclaimed authors from around the world. For details, see related post.
  • NSBORO Vision Strategic Planning Session (4:00 – 5:30 pm) @ Trottier Middle School Library, 49 Parkerville Rd: Northborough Southborough Public Schools are asking for the community to participate in strategic planning sessions to help them formulate and updated “Vision” for the next several school years..   • Winter Puzzle Competition (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: This event for ages 7+ requires pre-registration. Participants will be organized into teams of four to compete to be first to finish a winter themed puzzle.. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night (8:00 – 10:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: Weekly Trivia game night with prizes. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Southborough cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Nature Story Time (1:30 – 2:15 pm) @ Southborough Library, Children’s Room: This free program for 2-5 year olds requires pre-registration. The monthly story and craft series is put on by the Dept of Conservation & Recreation. This month’s focus is Winter Wildlife: What are the wild animals up to when it’s cold outside? For details, see related post.
  • Meditations for the Nations (4:30 – 5:00 pm) @ St. Mark’s Church Parish Hall, 27 Main St: The church invites community members troubled by “division, unrest, and fear in our country” to share concerns with others and take part in guided and silent meditation. The bi-weekly program is open to all. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Southborough Rotary Club (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Southborough. New and prospective members are always welcome. (Held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month.)
  • Friends of the Library Meeting (7:30 – 8:45 pm) @ zoom: Monthly meeting of board members and volunteers to discuss funding library requests and planning for upcoming fundraisers.   • Mah Jongg (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: The weekly program would love new players to join. Feel free to stop by to watch or talk to one of the players to see if you would be interested. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Baby/Toddler Storytime (11:00 – 11:30 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: A weekly program for ages 0-2 years with their parents/caregivers. Each session will include puppets and music. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • TLT (4:30 – 5:30 pm) @ Southborough Library Main Floor: The library holds a monthly Teen Library Team volunteer program for ages 10-18 to make projects for others in need. This month volunteers will make tissue paper flower bouquets for local residents at Colonial Gardens. For details, see related post.
  • Adult Game Night (6:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Join fellow gamers to learn and play some new board games! Gamers are invited to try the library’s games or bring their own from home. For ages 18 and up.

  • Dull Men’s Club (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: Casual social club for senior men. New members are always welcome to drop in. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Rhyme Time (11:00 – 11:30 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Weekly drop-in program for babies and toddlers (and parents/caregivers). Join Ms. Jenny for rhymes, songs, and more fun.

  • Tech Time (3:30 – 4:30pm) @ Southborough Library Teen Room: Stop by the library for help with your technological devices. Staff can assist with library apps, research databases, and more!

  • Sit & Knit (2:00 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Semi-monthly program for ages 18+ to drop in and work on your latest knitting or crochet projects while you enjoy the company of fellow yarn crafters in a relaxed social setting. All levels are welcome but no formal instruction will be given.
