Prepare for snow storm with “Major Impacts” on Sunday

NWS lists Southborough as likely to get at least a foot of snow and experience hazardous driving conditions.

The National Weather Service’s latest updates for this Sunday’s storm show an 80-90% chance that Southborough will experience “Major Impacts” and times when driving is “Dangerous or impossible”.

NWS warns to avoid travel and expect potential “Widespread closures and disruptions to infrastructure”.

That also means a good chance for area power outages — and since the storm impact is expected to be wide reaching, any outages may take longer than usual to resolve. So make sure you’re stocked up in advance with whatever you need to keep warm (and fed) and charge up your electronic devices!

As of this afternoon, Southborough is in the area with at least a 70% chance of getting at least 12″ of snow. The highest snowfall rate is expected to come on Sunday night. Below is the latest graph with the hourly forecast:
