A week from Thursday, parents and caregivers are invited to a webinar to help identify when their teens are in an unhealthy relationship, and how to deal with it.
The Teen Dating Safety presentation is being offered through a partnership between Southborough Youth and Family Services and Northborough Health and Human Services and the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.
The virtual session is scheduled for Thursday, March 5th from 6:30 – 7:45 pm over zoom:
Healthy Teen Relationships Webinar for Parents and Caregivers
this presentation will help parents learn how to identify red and green flags in teen relationships, understand the impact of social media, recognize signs of stalking, support their teens, and create a safety plan if needed.
Topics will include:
- Relationship Green/Red Signs
- Social Media vs. Relationships
- Stalking Awareness
- How to Help Your Teen
- Safety Planning
Organizing this program is just one of the steps the local agencies have been taking to address February’s “Healthy Relationships Month” and “National Teen Dating Violence Awareness & Prevention Month”. The agencies have also been working with Algonquin Regional High School to educate students.
Instagram posts from the school promoted educational information about relationship danger signs (see images below) and related resources for teens on the HHS website.
They also encouraged students to visit a table in the school to learn more (using a free raffle to attract them):

Now, they’re turning the focus to educating teens’ parents about what to look for and when to intervene.
