The DPW asked me to let readers know that they are still hard at work narrowing the snowbanks in town. They are asking the public for patience.
This afternoon, they posted some photos to Facebook as examples.
Yesterday’s public alert explained:
Over the next several days and overnight hours, DPW crews will be pushing back snowbanks to widen roadways and improve overall safety. This work is especially important to ensure that emergency vehicles, school buses, and plow trucks can safely travel on all roads throughout town.
We understand that this process can sometimes result in snow being pushed toward the ends of driveways. While this is an unavoidable part of widening the roadway, we recognize that it can be frustrating — particularly after you have already cleared your driveway.
Please know that crews are doing their best to balance roadway safety with the impact on residents. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to keep travel safe for everyone.
Thank you for your cooperation.
