Here are highlights of what’s happening around (or related to) our town this weekend through next weekend.

Friday evening, March 20, 2026

  • Live Music with Crash & Burn (8:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: The female fronted rock ‘n’ roll cover band will perform high-energy rock/pop/blues hits. For details, click here.

  • Kindergroup’s Easter Egg Hunt (10:00am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track, 49 Parkerville Rd: Annual community egg hunt includes loads of free activities for kids, refreshments, and a visit with the Easter Bunny. Pre-registration is requested. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Crafting Connections (10:30 – 11:30 am) @ Southborough Library: Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to come to this intergenerational craft hour! Join local seniors in painting new plant pots. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Oversize Teapot Art (11:30am – 12:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: [Note: Registration is closed.] An Alice in Wonderland inspired crafting event for teens and adults ages 12 and older. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Sit & Knit (2:00 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Semi-monthly program for ages 18+ to drop in and work on your latest knitting or crochet projects while you enjoy the company of fellow yarn crafters in a relaxed social setting. All levels are welcome but no formal instruction will be given.
  • Exhibit Opening for J. Ann Eldridge (4:00 – 7:00 pm) @ Southborough History & Arts Center, 42 Central St: The exhibit opening for “The Nature of Whimsy: The Magical Etchings of J. Ann Eldridge” includes an artist talk and reception. Tickets to attend are free, but pre-registration is required. For details, see related post.
  • Exhibit Opening for Leonard Gerwick (5:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Apothecary Artists, 11 Main Street: Opening reception with sips and nibbles. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Live Music with 3 of a Kind (8:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: The band will perform classic rock. For details, click here.

  • St. Mark’s Messy Church (4:00 – 6:00 pm) @ St Mark’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 27 Main St: A worship experience for busy families of younger kids. Includes a Bible story theme with activities, crafts, and a shared meal. For details, see related post.

Monday, March 23, 2026

  • No NSBORO School: Students have the day off to allow for this Professional Development Day for Northborough-Southborough Public Schools.
  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. (Dependent on weather conditions.) Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Ages 2-5 are invited for stories and a craft based on a weekly theme. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • Rummikub (11:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: Drop-in to the game group for seniors, meeting the 2nd, 3rd & 4th Monday of each month.
  • Knitting Club & Quilting Club (1:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Weekly opportunity for senior crafters to work on their projects in a social setting, including knitting, sewing, cross stitching, needle point.

  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Ages 2-5 are invited for stories and a craft based on a weekly theme. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Fish Printing (4:30 – 5:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: Registration is required for this free program run by DCR for ages 6–10 years old. In this event, kids will learn about fish in nearby waters and create works of art. For details, see related post.
  • Poetry Workshop (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, main level: Bring in five copies of original poetry to share. The group will provide supportive feedback. If you don’t have a poem, come anyway and share your insights. (Meets twice monthly.)
  • ARHS’ MICCA Choral Showcase (7:00 – 8:15 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School auditorium, 79 Bartlett St: The school’s choral program will hold a preview concert of works they will perform at the MICCA (Massachusetts Instrumental Choral & Conductors Association) festival.   • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Southborough cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. (Dependent on weather conditions.) Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Live Blues Jam n’ Open Mic (8:00 – 11:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: Come play or sing with the house band and fellow musical talent, or just enjoy the show. For details, see related post.

  • Mah Jongg (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: The weekly program would love new players to join. Feel free to stop by to watch or talk to one of the players to see if you would be interested. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Baby/Toddler Storytime (11:00 – 11:30 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: A weekly program for ages 0-2 years with their parents/caregivers. Each session will include puppets and music. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • Young Scientists STEM Beginnings (10:15 – 11:00 am) @ Southborough Library: This is a free series for children, ages 3-6 to learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) concepts through hands-on activities, story time and simple experiments. For details, see dedicated post.
  • TLT: Seed Pod Making (4:30 – 5:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: Registration is required for this free program run by DCR for grades 6-8, in coordination with the Teen Library Team. This session, volunteers will make clay encased seed pods to help grow native plants. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Adult Game Night (6:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Join fellow gamers (ages 18+) to learn and play some new board games! Gamers are invited to try the library’s games or bring their own from home. No registration required.
  • Virtual Author Talk: Youth Event (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ online: Registration is required to take part in the free live talk with Q&A, “Explore Secret Worlds in the Earth, Sea, and Sky with Kate Messner”. This is part of the Southborough Library’s virtual series featuring bestselling, award-winning, and highly acclaimed authors from around the world.   • Wizards (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: New weekly drop-in social club for senior men. This one is geared for men interested in discussing topics related to science and tech. For details, see related post.
  • Dull Men’s Club (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: Casual social club for senior men. New members are always welcome to drop in. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Rhyme Time (11:00 – 11:30 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Weekly drop-in program for babies and toddlers (and parents/caregivers). Join Ms. Jenny for rhymes, songs, and more fun.
  • Canasta (11:15 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group playing “Hand & Foot”. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • American Mah Jongg Meetup (1:00 – 3:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, Main Floor Stacks: Biweekly opportunity. Drop ins are welcome, but groups of 4 are generally necessary to play. For details, see related post.
  • Live Music with Matt Zajac (8:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: The singer from Garden of Heden will perform solo. For details, click here.

  • ARHS NHS Easter Egg Hunt (9:00 – 11:00am) @ Algonquin Regional High School, 79 Bartlett St, football field: Algonquin’s National Honor Society welcomes Northborough and Southborough Families with young children (up to 5th grade) to its annual Egg hunt.   • Free T-Ball Clinic (9:00 – 10:30 am) @ Finn School gym, 60 Richards Rd: Algonquin Baseball and Softball Associaton’s Coaches & Majors players will run this free clinic for 4-5 year olds. Kids will learn T-Ball skills while having fun. Sign up is open to any registered or prospective T-Ball players. For details, click here.
  • SaaRangaa Cultural Show (3:30 – 5:30 pm) @ Trottier Middle School, 49 Parkerville Rd: Performances, music, and dance that celebrate rich Sri Lankan traditions. There is a fee. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Southborough Salon Series: Wind Serenade (2:00 – 4:00pm) @ Southborough History & Arts Center, 42 Central St: Southborough History & Arts Center is launching a chamber music series with the Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra.
