NSPAC Meetup on Saturday & Basic Rights March 11th

Above: NSPAC is organizing a fun meetup this weekend and an educational webinar in less than two weeks for families with kids who have special needs. (images of cropped flyers)

I just learned that tomorrow afternoon, the Northborough Southborough Special Education Parent Advisory Council (NSPAC)* will hold an indoor “Meetup” for kids to play while parents mingle.

I’m sharing those details along with information on the annual “Basic Rights” presentation for parents “and professionals”.

NSPAC’s Gym Meetup

NSPAC Gym Meetup Flyer Feb 28 2026This event is for NSBORO families with children on an IEP or 504 plan. Siblings are welcome.

It will be hosted in Northborough in the Town Hall Gym. Northborough Recreation Staff will facilitate gym games for kids, while parents “mingle in the Rec Center”.

The opportunity is “Best suited for ages 6–12” years old.

The meetup is scheduled for Saturday, February 28th from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.

Families are asked to pre-register here.

Basic Rights: Understanding the IEP

NSPAC Basic Rights Flyer March 11 2026The annual presentation explains the eligibility for (and importance of) Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs). NSPAC promotes that it will:

deepen your knowledge on the IEP document, process, and your rights.

More details are in the flyer right.

The workshop will take place on Wednesday, March 11th at 6:30 pm. Sign up here.

Keeping up on other Events & Support Groups

It appears that NSPAC no longer updates the upcoming events section on its website. But it does frequently post on its Facebook page. That includes not only NSPAC hosted events, but also other area resources and news. I found a few that recently took place that are too late to share. But there is one worth noting that’s scheduled for next week.

The AMSA SEPAC his offering a free webinar for “Supporting Kids with ADHD” on Wednesday, March 4th at 6:00 pm.  You can learn more about that here. And you can follow NSPAC on Facebook here.

*NSPAC is a NSPAC is a volunteer-run, positive and solution oriented organization of parents of students ages 3-22 with special needs, medical challenges, and learning differences in the Northborough and Southborough School Districts. Learn more about the organization and events at www.nspac.org.

Updated (10/18/24 6:11 pm): I added the registration link for Coffee & Connect.
