This week, the Boston Globe published photos from the high school spring season, “representing the best of spring sports” from submissions by 250 participating high school students. They selected 96 photos taken by “over 50” students. Two of them were Algonquin Regional High School students (now rising seniors). Youth Football & Cheer News: “No Contact” Flag Football this fall, and NSYFCA registration still open until Monday

Southborough Recreation announced a new youth football program they will be launching this fall. They’ll be partnering with the NFL youth league to offer Flag Football. Details are still murky, but it looks like this will overlap the existing youth football program for our town.
So I took a look at the two options. I’m sharing and comparing details, plus the fact that the Northborough/Southborough Youth Football and Cheer Association’s registration is still open for programs that start about a month from now. Select Board allowing 21 Highland Future Use Committee to expire before completing its work (Updated – Again)
Denied its request for an extension, the committee will meet one more time this Wednesday night to discuss its final report.

Last week, the majority of the Select Board voted against extending the charge for the ad hoc committee researching potential future uses of the former South Union School Building at 21 Highland Street.

Apply now to serve on new committee to research school building options for Pre-K to 8 (Updated)
On July 1st, the Select Board will consider applications for a new committee to begin work July 15th and report out by August 31st.

On July 1st, the Select Board will consider appointing applicants for 3 “at large” members of a new ad-hoc “Pre-K to 8 School Building Committee”.
This week the board approved the charge on the “revised Neary Building Committee”. The ambitious goal is for it to issue a final report to the board and community by the end of August. SPD seeking driver in Monday afternoon Hit & Run
A gray Nissan Murano is alleged to have run into a trash removal collector on Pine Hill Road. Police are seeking information.

On Monday afternoon, a “waste removal worker” reported that he was hit by a passing car that kept on going. The Southborough Police issued a press release seeking information on the driver of a gray Nissan Murano. The incident took place around 1:15 pm on June 16th near 92 Pine Hill Road.
