Celebrating 10 years of researching and "restoring" at-risk pollinators through the Beecology native plant garden

For ten years, a pollinator garden at Breakneck Hill has served as a “Beecology” research site for “how creating functional pollination systems can help preserve biodiversity.”

This Saturday, the Open Space Preservation Commission and Stewardship Committee are celebrating the milestone by inviting the public to tour the garden and learn about the “significant gains in populations of at-risk pollinators. Virtual Author Talks for kids, teens, and adults

Authors of kids and YA books are offering special sessions for young readers in addition to the events coming up for adults. Plus, the library is holding a viewing party for 9th-12th graders.

The virtual author talk series offered through the Southborough Library has ramped up for summer reading. Not only are there more frequent talks in July, but many are targeted to kids on school break (Pre-K through high school). Appointments made to new, expanded PreK-8 building committee

The Select Board appointed five "At Large" members, and most representative members. Only one is a holdover from the Neary Building Committee.

Last night, the majority of the Select Board voted to appoint five “at-large” members to the PreK-8 School Building Committee. 

At this point 8 of 9 seats have been appointed (and there’s news on who won’t be continuing in the 9th seat). While critics of the new process didn’t entirely get their way, it appears there will be almost no overlap with the prior committee.
