Fall Town Meeting: Neary Roof may (or may not) be on the Warrant

Last month, the Southborough School Committee submitted an Article for the Warrant for the Special Town Meeting in October. It requests borrowing over $4MM to replace Neary School’s roof.

SOLF Fundraiser featuring good to go at Beals Preserve

Mark your calendars to support the open space preservation charity on September 13th.

A week from Saturday, the public can enjoy “an evening of drinks, food, and fun” at Beals Preserve. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Southborough Open Land Foundation.

Affordable Housing Trust seeking to develop Atwood parcel (Updated-Again)

The Trust made an offer to to reduce the Town's contamination cleanup costs of the old Water Tower site in exchange for ownership to develop a project. The offer may be added to the Fall Town Meeting Warrant.

At last night’s Select Board Meeting, the board heard the broad outlines of an offer made by the Town’s Affordable Housing Trust to purchase a Town-owned parcel on Atwood Street. The Trust is seeking to enter an agreement to acquire the property after the Town has successfully cleaned up lead discovered on the site. West Nile Virus risk is still “Moderate” in town, but there are high risk communities to the north/east

This week, a woman from Middlesex County tested positive for West Nivel Virus. Earlier this summer, the Southborough Health Department issued a warning about mosquitos tested positive for West Nile Virus in Southborough. Southborough’s “Moderate Risk” status hasn’t changed since I shared the news, but there have been changes in the region. Suicide Prevention Awareness Month reminder

Sign up for free awareness-raising lawn signs and/or programs throughout September to help community members "support loved ones and strengthen resilience".

For those who missed (or forgot about) my sharing Southborough Youth and Family Services’ efforts for Suicide Prevention Awareness Month in September. . .

Teens & Tweens invited to paint 9/11 Tribute Rocks — Saturday

The Southborough Library is inviting 12–18 year olds to volunteer their artistic help during a special rock painting program this Saturday.
