Property taxes are on the rise

The Board of Selectmen last night voted to approve a 9% increase in property taxes for fiscal year 2009 (07/01/08 – 06/30/09). That works out to an average increase of $648 per family. Reminder: New hours for the Town House

The Town House will be open new hours starting this week. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Tuesday: 8:00 am – 7:00 pm Friday: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm The new schedule will be in effect until March 27, 2009.

In the 2006 statewide election, Southborough’s voter turnout was 71%, 10 points higher than the state average. (Trying to remember what was on the ballot in 2006?
