Boys Scouts will take away your old Christmas tree

In my house the Christmas decorations just went up, so I’m not ready yet to think about taking them down. But when I do, Boy Scout Troop 1 will be ready and willing to help.

The Southborough scouts are once again offering to pick up and dispose of your Christmas tree when the holidays are over. It’s an annual fundraiser for the troop and the profits will help fund their “big trip” in 2011, which they hope will be to Alaska.

The pick up dates are January 2 and January 9. You need to schedule a pick-up by sending email to Troop1Trees@gmail.com or calling 508-626-8015. In your email or phone message, let them know your name, phone number, address, and date you want your tree picked up. Leave your tree at the end of your driveway by 9:00 am on the day of pick up.

The suggested donation is $10 for large trees and $5 for smaller trees. You can put your donation in a plastic bag and clip or tape it to the top of the tree. Note that you must be a Southborough resident to take advantage of the pick-up service.
