Southborough Master Plan receives award

It took a whole lot of meetings, debate, public forums, and research to come up with Southborough’s Master Plan which was finalized in 2008. All that hard work was recently recognized with an award from the American Planning Association.

Earlier this month, the Massachusetts chapter of the APA awarded the Southborough Master Plan its 2009 Distinguished Project Award for a project identified by the Massachusetts Association of Planning Directors. More than 30 other projects were in competition for the award.

“I can’t tell you how proud I am that the hard work the Master Plan Committee, under the leadership of the Planning Board, put into the Master Plan has been recognized with such an award,” Town Planner Vera Kolias said.

The Master Plan Committee was chaired by Planning Board member Mary Hynes.

I like the cover. Wouldn’t it be great if the Town Hall yard really looked like that!
