Boy Scouts picking up Christmas trees on Saturday, January 8

For many of us — myself included — it’s still a little too early to take down the Christmas decorations. But when that time comes, Southborough Boy Scout Troop 1 will be ready and willing to help.

On Saturday, January 8, the scouts will hold their annual Christmas tree collection service. For a small donation ($5 for small trees and $10 for large ones) the Boy Scouts will take away your tree and properly dispose of it. They’ll also take wreaths and garlands for $1 each.

To schedule a pick up, send an email to Troop1Trees@gmail.com or call 508-624-0195, and include your name, phone number, and address. Pick up requests must be received by 7:00 pm pm on January 7.

On the pick up day, just place your tree at the end of your driveway by 9:00 am. Put your donation in a plastic bag clipped or taped to the top of the tree.

Money raised through the collection event will help pay for the scouts’ once-in-a-lifetime trip to Alaska this summer.
