A Southborough family is co-hosting a fundraiser for St. Jude’s Hospital this month.

The Skate Party will take place at Roller Kingdom in Hudson on Saturday, January 31 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. (To register, click here for the evite.*)

Finola and Maddy Wall of Southborough are inviting the community to join the fun and support the cause. The children are co-hosting the event with their cousins (the McDonalds of Paxton).

The party will include skating, games, and races. There will also be karaoke and a 50/50 raffle. Refreshments will be sold at the concession stand.

Skate rental is included in the price, but at a max of 3 rentals per family. (Additional rentals cost $3 per person.) The rink rents traditional skates, inline, and even skates with training wheels for tots. Or, bring your own skates.

As for the price – they are requesting donations with a suggestion of $10 per person or $25 per family. Proceeds will go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The children came to support the hospital through their involvement in Fitness for a Cure. Kerry Wall, Finola and Maddy’s mother, explains:

Finola and Maddy Wall, members of Fitness for a Cure, are inviting the community to a St. Jude's fundraiser (contributed photo)This is the third year my kids have been involved in Fitness for a Cure/St Jude Performance Team.   The first year we attended the performance in support of my sister’s kids who were involved.    My girls, Finola (9) and Maddy (7), loved the performance and wanted to join the team simply because of how much fun they could have with their cousins.  My husband and I thought getting involved was a win/win for our girls by keeping them active while learning at a new level of how lucky they are to be healthy and so many other positive lessons.

The kids’ team will hold their big annual fundraiser with a Fitness Show on March 21.  It begins with a family event is at 11:00 am, followed by an evening gala at 6:00 pm.
