Dinner to raise funds for the Southborough Community – Sept 8

The Southborough Community Fund is holding a special fundraising dinner on Friday, September 8th.

SCF provides grants to nonprofit organizations and town agencies serving the town of Southborough in the areas of human services, arts & culture, environment and community building.

The efforts are funded through donations from the community, raised through outreach efforts like this one.

The open invitation to the community reads:

Established in 2014, the Southborough Community Fund (SCF) promotes a spirit of philanthropy to help enhance the quality of life in Southborough.

Tickets to the dinner are $150. Money will go to SCF’s continuing efforts to provide grants that “support community needs and opportunities”. Grants generally range from $1,000 to $10,000.

The next round of grant applications is currently open with a deadline of September 8th (two hours before the fundraising dinner.) Click here to read more about that opportunity.

So what kind of grants would your tickets or donatins support? Last fall, the fund awarded $50,000 in grants to:

  • Assabet Valley Mastersingers (AVM)
  • Best Buddies, International
  • The Friends of the Southborough Council On Aging (COA)
  • Greater Marlboro Programs, Inc.
  • New Hope, Inc.
