Trottier students to perform “Madagascar – A Musical Adventure JR.” – Friday and Saturday

If you’re family enjoys the popular Madagascar movies (or the King Julian/Penguins spin offs), you’ll want to “Move It, Move It” over to Trottier this weekend.

Southborough middle students will bring the Madagascar characters to life this Friday and Saturday. Trottier Drama will present Madagascar Jr. on the school’s stage.

Looking for information on the Jr. version of the play, I confirmed that it is a musical. Music Theater International describes the script:

Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hip Hippo and, of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins as they bound onto your stage in the musical adventure of a lifetime. Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar – A Musical Adventure JR. follows all of your favorite crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar.

Admission to the play is $5 per person at the door. Two performances are scheduled: Friday, January 24th at 7:00 – 8:30 pm and Saturday, January 23rd at 3:00 – 4:30 pm.

If either is snowed out, the backup date is 3:00 pm on Sunday.
