Central One Scholarship opportunity for ARHS senior

A local credit union is offering a scholarship for one student of Algonquin Regional. The selected applicant will receive either a $1,000 or $4,000 scholarship.

Central One is offering four scholarships for four high schools in towns where they have branches. One student will be selected from each school, and only one of those will get the larger award. Applications must be received by April 1st.

While the opportunity is open to all ARHS students, it appears to be based on the school’s Northborough location.*

Here are the details:

Central One is pleased to offer the following four academic awards to graduating seniors from Westborough, Shrewsbury, Auburn and Algonquin Regional high schools. Each school will have one scholarship recipient selected from among their eligible applicants.

One (1) $4,000 award, payable at $1,000 per year while enrolled in a four year program at an accredited college or university.

Three (3) $1,000 awards. These are one-time awards, payable to the student with proof of attendance.

Consideration will be based on academic merit, school activities/community involvement and need.

Eligibility for the scholarships is as follows:

  • Student must be graduating this May.
  • Student must be entering a 4 year accredited program this Fall.
  • Student must be majoring in Business and/or Finance

The application must be accompanied by a brief essay explaining future goals and financial need, a recommendation letter, and a high school transcript. Click here for the application form.
