Virtual class to offer “Powerful Tools for Caregivers” of elders – Sign up quickly and learn more Wednesday

The Southborough Senior Center has issued its summer newsletter.* In it is the promotion of a free 6-week virtual class for caregivers of seniors, including family members.

The program is run by the Natick Community Center, but thanks to zoom, it’s offered to the Southborough community as well. An informational session will be held over zoom, Wednesday, July 22nd at 3:00 pm.

The 6-week class promises to “give you the tools to”:

  • Reduce Caregiver stress
  • Improve self-confidence in caregiving
  • Manage time, set goals and problem solve
  • Better communicate your feelings
  • Make tough caregiving decisions

Registration is required and space is limited. To sign up for the information session and/or program, call the Natick Community-Senior Center at 508-647-6540 and ask for Debbie Buss at ext 1906 or Karen Edwards at ext 1905.

Classes will meet via Zoom every Wednesday for 6 weeks from 3:00-4:30 starting August 12th. The free program is made possible in part by funding from the Older Americans Act, as granted by BayPath Elder Services, Inc.

*I’ll be writing more about what’s on offer through the newsletter. (Most other programs begin in August with registration not available until next week.) In the meantime, you can check it out here.
