Meals seek wheels: Volunteer drivers needed to deliver Wednesday lunches

Southborough’s Elderly Nutrition Program is looking for volunteer drivers to help out.

Southborough’s Meals on Wheels program is again seeking volunteers to make deliveries. Organizers are looking to fill a need for Wednesdays to deliver lunches between 11:00 am and noon.

Meals on Wheels is part of the Senior Center’s Elderly Nutrition Program. It’s run by BayPath Elder Services. The program “delivers nutritious meals to seniors who are unable to leave their homes due to illness, disability, or frailty.”

Meals are picked up at the Westboro Senior Center and delivered to Southborough seniors. You can read more about the Southborough service here.

For more information on volunteering, or to sign up, please call Denise Menzdorf of Baypath Elder Services at 508-573-7210.

Sometimes we (or at least I) forget that volunteering even one hour a week can be so impactful. I am calling Ms. Menzdorf first thing next week.

Wednesday update: Heard back from Ms. Menzdorf, and I will be delivering Meals-on-Wheels in our Town very soon! Making a difference for our neighbors is too easy not to do so….
