When I was lurking around the set yesterday morning, there were only a handful of spectators watching the action. When I returned at the end of the day, it was a whole different scene.
The TV camera crews, along with plenty of fans — largely school-aged kids, but adults too — were gathered around waiting for the stars to emerge from the church. The police were doing a diligent job of keeping the crowd contained on the Town House lawn and safely away from the set.
But there was payoff for the fans’ patient waiting. While I was there, Chris Rock and David Spade stopped by to sign autographs, and pressumably others did the same.
One lucky kid even got his sneaker signed by Chris Rock.
