Looking for a sledding spot? Think Chestnut Hill Farm

The Open Space Preservation Commission wants to remind you that Chestnut Hill Farm is a great place to spend time with the family this vacation week. Whether you’re looking for the thrill of sledding or the tranquility of snowshoeing, Chestnut Hill Farm is the place to do it.

A small parking area is located at the entrance to the property about halfway down Chestnut Hill Road on the right. Slopes for sledding are a short distance from the parking area. You can find a trail map for snowshoeing here.

I was wondering if you could tell me exactly where to look – we drove down Chestnut Hill Road yesterday and didn’t see any parking except what looked like driveways and really couldn’t identify any hills.

Thanx for the help

You’re right – the parking area is hard to see if you don’t know where it is and you don’t notice the sledding hill from the road.
The parking area is on the right-hand side as you drive down Chestnut Hill Road. A bit after you pass the white houses on the right, there is an opening in the stonewall, just before (and almost across from) the stone house on the left-hand side of the road. After you pull into the farm road, the parking area is immediately on your right.
As you walk out of the parking area take a right onto the farm road and then cut to the left after the stone outbuilding to get to the top of the hill.
Happy sledding
