Planning Board member Richard “Chuck” Connors, who is up for re-election this year, has announced he will not seek a forth term on the board. Connors sent me this letter explaining his decision.
It is with a sense of sadness but no regrets that I will not seek reelection to my seat on the Southborough Planning Board.
Business expansion and its accompanying travel demands, no longer allow me to serve the position in the manner that is required. It is critical that any person seeking a seat on the Planning Board appreciate and understand the time commitment necessary to be effective.
The 15 years that I served proved to be both lively and rewarding. The bond and respect that I have developed for my fellow, past, and present board members is significant. Names including Gaffney, Morris, Mattson, Johnson, Cunningham and Hynes, all personify the definition of selfless, devoted public officials. Southborough is very fortunate to have such competent and committed people.
Finally, I would like to thank the residents of Southborough that elected and supported me during my three terms.
Sincerely,
Chuck Connors
