RMV suspends license of National Grid driver involved in fatal crash

A number of news agency are reporting that the Registry of Motor Vehicles has suspended the license of the National Grid manager who was driving the dump truck involved in last week’s fatal accident on Route 495 in Southborough.

From the Boston Herald:

The RMV indefinitely suspended Jeffrey W. Fisher’s license Monday, pending the outcome of an investigation into the crash, which claimed the life of Xjaoyun Jiang of Westford and injured three others in a Toyota minivan behind the truck, Richard Nagle said.

Fisher, a 49-year-old construction supervisor for National Grid, has citations from the 1980’s for speeding and failure to stop in Framingham, and unregistered or improper equipment in Marlboro, according to the RMV.

The accident is still under investigation. Earlier this week National Grid said the dump truck was on a test run following safety concerns when the accident occurred. During the accident a backhoe being towed by the dump truck fell off its trailer crushing a minivan.
