Open discussion thread: Ask questions, share opinions

Time for another open thread. For those of you new to the blog, the open discussion thread is your place to ask questions, sound off on town issues, or share information with other readers. Here are some suggestions to get you started:

  • Ask questions about programs in town or the town itself
  • Post a note about things that you’re selling or giving away, or things that you want
  • Share notices about upcoming events (Southborough or otherwise)
  • Register your thoughts on town issues or news stories
  • Point out interesting or helpful resources

You can add comments to the thread throughout the week. Check back often to see new comments. (If you read the blog via email or RSS, you might want to check the site from time to time for new comments.)

I guess I need to re-post this:

FREE TO A GOOD HOME

I have a 7 year old Daewoo rear projection TV. It has been replaced by a more modern television. It stands 48″ tall, 46″ wide, 22″ deep. Has remote and owner’s manual. Still works but I have no room. Would be good for a “mantown” or for video game hook-up. Unlike some newer televisions, this is not affected by the cold, so would be a nice addition to a cottage. If interested, call 508-481-9441

PS – Screen is FULLY intact even though the Pats lost the Super Bowl

Just wondering ...

How can I find out if the Fire Chief interviews on Thursday evening will be televised (either live or delayed)?

I don’t believe it will be live but I’m told they are going to be televised.

What is with the street signs in town? So many are peeling apart, and becoming difficult read. What happened to the old fashioned green ones that lasted for decades?

Does anybody have a good idea for what we should do with that fat stack of cash the town has saved by not having to plow much this year? LOL !

Susan or anyone else that may know,
Does anyone know if local player groups are putting on or having auditions for any musical or play? I know my daughter loves to do them outside of school.

Sorry to say the ice rink at Woodward will probably never open. There are several reasons for this, warm weather and adults using even though the sign said “NO SKATING”. The weather is the biggest factor and adults (not small children) using it before it was ready made it worse.

Thank you to the Friends of Southboro Recreation for paying for the rink/supplies and to DPW for their hard work putting it up again this year.

Let’s hope next year will be better.
