Pre-register for April vacation fun: Dodgeball, movies, gym games, multi-sports, and gardening

Above: During April vacation, children can enjoy the minion madness of Despicable Me 2 for free or register for the movie day with lunch and games.

As a parent of elementary schoolers whose April vacation is more of a “staycation”, I’ve been looking to see what activities are available that week.

There are some good offerings in town, but most require pre-registration.

So here’s an FYI on April vacation activities to register/RSVP for:

From the Southborough Recreation Department:

Grades 2 to Grade 5

Co-Ed Dodgeball – $30 pp
Tuesday, April 22, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

The famous playground game is reborn as an exciting new sport of teamwork, strategy and skill.

Co-rec teams of 6 to 10 players will put it all on the line trying to outlast opponents.

The main objective of each team is to eliminate all members of the opposing team by hitting them with thrown balls, catching a thrown ball by a member of the opposing team, or forcing them to move outside the court boundaries when a ball is thrown at them.

Movie: Despicable Me 2choice – free for kids whose parents stay
Tuesday, April 22, 10:00 am – 11:45 pm

Children who aren’t registered for “Day at the Movies” (below) must have a parent stay with them (and will have to leave after the movie screening.)

Day at the Movies  – $20 pp
Tuesday, April 22, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Join us for a free movie release! “Despicable Me 2” Get ready for some minion madness.

Stay with us for more fun! Lunch and drinks will be served. Kids will be supervised and introduced to lots of indoor/outdoor activities (weather permitting). They will be engaged in non-competitive games, lots of fun and socialization.

Parents can drop children off at 10 am, or stay for the movie portion then leave at 11:45 am when lunch and games begin.

Pre-registration is required for this lunch and gym games option.

Ages 5 – 12

Multi-Sports Clinic – $10 pp
Thursday, April 24, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Come meet Thundercat Sports Staff and play some camp games!

We will play age appropriate games that could include capture the flag, dodgeball, tag games, soccer, basketball dribbling games, and more!

Your child will be exposed to a variety of sports which are broken down into fun learning activities.

General Manager Mark Frank will be there to answer any questions you might have about the summer programs.
