Christmas services 2018: Candlelit masses, pageants, carols and celebrations

Above: For many in town, tonight is about a lot more than hanging the stockings by the chimney with care. (Photo posted to Flickr by Marcuss Hansson.)

Here are the masses and festivities planned by churches in town in honor of Christmas Eve and morning.

Christmas Day Services*

Tuesday, December 25, 2018:

St. Anne Parish (website)

  • Nativity of the Lord Christmas Day Masses: 9:00 and 11:00 am

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church (website)

  • Holy Eucharist with Carols: 10:00 am

Saint Matthew Parish (website)

  • Nativity of the Lord Masses: 7:30 am, 9:00 am, and 11:00 am

*Editor’s Note: In past years, I also listed Chinese Gospel Church as holding a Christmas Eve service and the First Community Church as holding an 11:00 am Christmas Day Service. This year, I couldn’t find schedules posted for Christmas services at those churches and didn’t have a chance to check in with them before signing off for my Christmas break. (I still listed the First Community Church as having a candlelight Christmas Eve mass as that is described as an ongoing tradition on its website.)

Updated (12/24/18 2:46 pm):  when I wrote the post well past midnight, I accidentally included some references from past years posts that made no sense today!  I just cleaned those up .
