Story Slam: Tell Your Story (or enjoy listening) on Thursday night

A Southborough resident inspired by the Moth Radio Hour is helping to organize a local Story Slam. The second session of the new monthly series is tomorrow night, Thursday, May 2nd.

This month’s theme is Mothers:

Share your stories about your mother, your interaction with other mothers, or your own experiences as a mother. Story tellers and avid listeners are all welcome!

The intent is to pull together people eager to share their stories with a supportive audience. Storytellers are randomly selected – but only from the volunteers who sign up. (So, no one’s pushing you on to the stage if you don’t want to speak!)

Metrowest Stories flyerThe series is called “Metrowest Stories”. But in exchange for my promoting the launch to our community, organizer Jennifer Lauretti has agreed to hold one slot for someone from Southborough. Which means, there should be at least one “Southborough Story”. Though, that’s only if residents show up and signup!

The sessions are scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm, but doors will open 15 minutes earlier. It’s held at the Center for Arts and Wellness, 125 Turnpike Rd, Unit #10 in Westborough.

You can find more details, including what’s allowed and what’s not, in the linked pdf. (Just note that it mistakenly lists the wrong monthly schedule. The event will actually take place on the first Thursday each month.)
