Wednesday marks the first day of this summer’s drive-thru for senior residents getting Transfer Station permits.

Current stickers don’t expire until September. But, if you’re a senior, you’ll probably want to take care of it during the next two weeks. That’s when the Town Clerk will again be offering the easy option during special hours.

Non-senior residents must still purchase their stickers online, through the mail, or in person at the Dept of Public Works (not the Town House)Click here for a reminder on those details.

There are some rules:

  • To receive a sticker, you must be the owners of record of a Southborough residence. To prove residency, you must provide a current vehicle registration or utility bill with a Southborough address.
  • Anyone with an unpaid fine will not be issued a Transfer Station sticker. (Contact DPW to pay the fine.)
  • To qualify for the free “Senior Permit”, you must turn age 65 on or before the end of the year. (This year, that means you were born on or before 12/31/54.)
  • The 2nd free Senior Permit must be for another senior or the spouse at the same residence. (Children residing with the senior must pay for a 1st permit.)
  • Note: Stickers may not be transferred to, nor used by another resident to avoid the purchase of additional stickers.

Assuming you pass the above criteria, here is the easiest way to get your free sticker:
