Above: Are you worried about what to do with kids this summer? Here’s a look at in-town options for camps. (images from a past Rec brochure and SEDP’s 2025 flyer)
Southborough’s schools get out in less than four weeks.1 For parents who haven’t signed their kids up for any camps this summer, I’m sharing updated details and reminders of the camps that are offered in Southborough.
Before you sign kids up for weeks of generic camps, you may want to check out the limited run offerings this summer to avoid conflicts with a program of special interest to your children.

Recreation Summer Camp Program
The Town’s weekly day camp isn’t the fanciest option in town, but it is usually the most inexpensive. That makes it a popular option for keeping kids busy most of the summer — both for residents and for parents who work in town.
As for why your kids would want to attend, the Town pitches:
Southborough Recreation Summer Camp exposes children to a wide variety of programming on site and off site. From traditional activities such as sports, arts and crafts, and special events, to off-site visits to surrounding Southborough facilities, your child will enjoy an active summer with friends!
The Rec Camps will run weekdays from June 30th to August 15th (except for July 4th).
Good news, almost everything is still available at this point. And you can ad your kids to a waitlist for the only option that is full (half-day Fayville Week 3).
The camps are split by age group as of the beginning of camp. There are opportunities for kids ages 4-12.
“Camp Fayville” is for 4–6 years olds with half day and full day options. (It doesn’t include field trips, but camp theme weeks are the same as for the older campers.) All campers must be potty trained. Rates are $225 for half day (8:30 am – noon) and $325 for full day (8:30 am – 4:00 pm).
“Camp Cordaville” is for 7–12 years olds. That is a full day only program, 8:30 am – 4:00 pm at $325 per week. There is one field trip/special event anticipated per week for the older campers.
Special themed weeks and trips:
Rec is promoting the following schedule for the summer (with the caveat that field trips, which are only for the 7-12 year olds, are “subject to change”):
- Week 1: June 30th- July 3rd – “Hello, Summer” theme, with a field trip to USA Ninja in Marlborough
- Week 2: July 7th-11th – “Animals: Get WILD” theme, with a field trip to Apex Entertainment
- Week 3: July 14th-18th – “Dinosaurs” theme, with a field trip to Kimballs Farm
- Week 4: July 21st-25th – “Tropics” theme, with a field trip to Ski Ward tubing
- Week 5: July 28th -August 1st – “Science Fun” theme, with a field trip to New England Revolution II game
- Week 6: August 4th – 8th – “Sports” theme, with a field trip to Worcester Red Sox
- Week 7: August 11th-15th – “Community” theme, with Field Day games instead of a field trip
If you were hoping to sign your 13-14 year old up as a CIT (Counselor in Trainings), unfortunately, that program is full for this summer and no waitlist is available.
Southborough Extended Day Camp
The SEDP program, managed through a partnership of community parents, only offers Mondays – Thursdays (with Thursdays as their field trip day). But it offers the flexibility to pick specific days families need rather than committing to entire weeks.
The “full week” fees are a little higher than Rec’s camp ($340), but less expensive if you only need kids in camp for three of fewer days per week. Mondays – Wednesdays are $80 per day and Thursdays (field trip day) cost $100.
The biggest draw for many families is reflected in the name. The regular hours run longer then Rec Camp. And additional extended hours are available in both the mornings (starting at 7:30 am) and evenings (running until 6:00 pm).
The camp is limited to students entering grades K-6, but does allow campers who aren’t potty trained. (Another plus, since none of the other camps in town do.) And unlike Southborough Rec, the field trips include the younger campers.
You can find the SEDP website here and the Registration form is here.
Private Camps in Town
The two private schools in town also offer camps.
