ARHS Post-Season Sports (Updated)

Tennis is out of state championships; Schedules posted for Rugby, Volleyball, Lacrosse, and Baseball tourneys.

The post-season moves quickly. So, it’s already time for an update on Algonquin spring varsity sports.

Unfortunately, I misread the timing for Tennis brackets being posted. Those were actually released last Friday (not scheduled for this Friday). The ARHS teams both played in and fell out of their tourneys yesterday. In Division 1, ARHS Girls were seeded #22. They lost the Round of 32 to Concord-Carlisle 4-1. In Division 2, the ARHS #20 Boys lost their Round of 32 3-2 to Marblehead.

Since I posted on Monday, the remaining MIAA brackets and schedules have dropped.

As I previously posted, the 5th seed Titans Boys Rugby team will travel to play #4 Catholic Memorial in the D2 opening Round of 8. That game is now scheduled for this evening (Thursday, May 29th) at 5:00 pm. And #38 ARHS Boys Volleyball‘s Preliminary Round D1 game against #27 Taunton is scheduled for tomorrow (Friday, May 30th) at 6:00 pm.

All three Titans teams playing in newly posted brackets will skip the D2 prelims, to start play in the Round of 32.

In Boys Lacrosse, the #11 Titans will host #22 Methuen at 5:30 pm tomorrow in the Gonkplex stadium. That same evening, Titans Girls Lacrosse will be the #22 underdogs challenging the 11th seed team. They’ll travel to play Scituate at 6:00 pm.

The last team to enter the tourneys will be Gonk Baseball. In the final D2 seeding, the team fell three ranks to #12. The silver lining is that means they’ll start off playing a much lower seed team. They’ll host #21 Woburn on Sunday, June 1st at 1:00 pm.

As I posted earlier this week, Girls Lacrosse and Softball didn’t qualify for this year’s tourneys. For a reminder of Outdoor Track’s competitions planned for this week, read Tuesday’s post.

I don’t expect any follow up competitions to be scheduled for this weekend, so my next update will wait until Monday.

Updated (5/29/2025 2:32 pm): I had written June 1st as Monday. The Baseball game is on Sunday.
