Tomorrow is the 3rd part of the Rotary Club of Southborough’s 4 part Food Truck Festival. (It’s forecast to be a hot and sunny one. Fortunately, as always, offerings include ice cream.)
Here’s a reminder of the details.
On Wednesday, June 4th (and one last time on the 11th), attendees can head downtown to purchase snacks, dinner, and dessert from visiting food trucks. The vendors park on St. Mark’s School’s downtown field at the corner of Routes 85 & 30. (For more details on the vendors, scroll down.)
The trucks are scheduled for 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
I’ll insert a plug here to pop over to the library at 7:00 pm on June 4th for the Author Talk at the Friends of the Southborough Library’s Annual Meeting!
Rotary’s main purpose for organizing the annual festival is as a feel good, community event — with no admission fee. But, as usual, they will also use it as a platform for a charitable initiative.
The Fundraiser
They are partnering again with Main Street Bank to incentivize donations to a good cause.
This year’s fundraising/collection has been selected in honor of a hometown initiative that they recently honored two residents for founding. They will be collecting funds for a Pine Hill Meadow Farm Benefit. (To read more about how volunteers use the Pine Hill Meadow Garden to grow and harvest food to be donated to food programs helping people in need, click here..
Main Street Bank will generously provide a $10 voucher for each $20 donation made to the fundraiser. Vouchers can be used to make a purchase at any of the food trucks. Visit Rotary’s table at the festival for more information and to purchase a voucher (or just make a donation).
Enjoying the Festival
There will be a few tables put out for the public to use. But most families take advantage of the grassy field, using picnic blankets and/or chairs.
Below are a few photos I took last week, plus in 2023 & 2024:
There are no rain dates posted for the event. I’ve been told in the past years that events are rain or shine, but I’m guessing that’s within reason. (If weather for next week is torrential rain/thunder for the entire three hours, I’d look for news on cancellation/postponement. But that’s definitely not in the cards for this week!)
The Food Vendor Lineup
Here is the planned food vendor lineup for the remainder of the series. (Note: Sometimes there are last minute cancellations or adjustments):
