Above: If weather cooperates, St. Mark’s Parish will be picnicking on their lawn this weekend. If not, they’ll welcome community members in their parish hall. (images cropped from Facebook photo and flyer)
This Sunday, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church is inviting the community to join them for a free rain or shine picnic. For those who are interested, they can also attend a special service that morning.
St. Mark‘s will provide hamburgers and hot dogs. Guests may bring a dish to share if they would like.
The event is scheduled to take place on Pentecost Sunday, June 8th (the final day of the Easter holiday season). The church is using the occasion to bring the parish and community together, and to mark the start of the new summer schedule.
Instead of multiple services that Sunday, there will be one Pentecost Sunday Service held at 10:00 am. That will be followed by the annual picnic at 11:30 am.
While organizers hope the weather will cooperate for fun out on the lawn, they’ll move the event into the Fellowship Hall if necessary. (The church and hall are both located at 27 Main Street.)
The picnic will take place on the church’s lawn if weather permits. In the case of rain, it will be moved inside to their Fellowship Hall.
If the weather is smiling on an outdoor picnic, be sure to bring a blanket and/or beach chairs.
While I’m sharing this, I’ll also remind that the evening prior, Pilgrim Church is holding its annual Chicken BBQ. You can read about that here.
